Appearing on the Infield stage

Named "Portland's own Queen of the Blues" in 1996, Pam Baker has been singing professionally for the past 20 years. Both an outstanding vocalist and an adept performer on acoustic guitar, this able songstress performs as a solo, duo, or with her band and captivates her audience with the intensity of her performance. Her solo show displays her strong background in blues and contemporary folk music provides a unique twist as Pam offers up the work of blues legends like Bessie Smith to more contemporary performers such as Tom Waits, and a few of her songs to the mix. Opening for artists such as Johnny Winter, Savoy Brown, Tab Benoit, Coco Montoya, Debbie Davies, Popa Chubby, James Montgomery, Commander Cody, Duke Robillard, Pam weaves a spell around her audiences, capturing and holding their attention. Her timing and sure instinct pull the most for each note sung, convincing each and every listener the song was just for him or her. On the Main Stage of the North Atlantic Blues Festival, Rockland, ME in 1999, Baker has performed for several years in the Festival’s Pub Crawls. Other events include Blues Festival By The River, New Boston, NH, Blues At The Forks, The Forks, ME, The Queens International Film Festival, Forest Hills, NY, L.L. Bean Discovery Park, Freeport, ME, Portsmouth Blues Festival, Portsmouth, NH, Maine Festival, Brunswick, ME, Sugarloaf Blues Festival, Sugarloaf USA, among others.
Baker was recently introduced to Matt Tenney a singer/songwriter from the Portland, ME area. Finding that their acoustic styles and musically tastes harmonized, they started playing away and decided to form the duo, Baker & Tenney. Tenney has many years experience in the music world, from running sound, playing guitar in bands and band management to performing as a soloist and in other acoustic settings. His songwriting has a unique twist that blends both sorrow and future hopes, weaving a tapestry of emotions we have all felt at sometime in our lives.
